I bought a pair of these after I saw the winner of the 2009 NYC Marathon wearing arm warmers (though I don't know what brand). He was wearing a tanktop, but the weather was a bit cool, so he had on a pair of arm warmers. That allowed him to basically create the effect of a longsleeve shirt with an armpit vent (I have never seen such a shirt, hence the usefulness of this product). If you run any distances, you know that sweat builds up in the armpits and can soak a regular shirt, which is not comfortable.
This product is perfect for a day where a tanktop alone is not warm enough. Also, if the temperature warms up, you can remove this product while you continue running (though you need a pocket to put this in).
This is made of synthetic materials; there are more expensive wool arm warmers. But if the temperature is so cold that I need to break out my fleece running gear, then I doubt I will be using arm warmers rather than a fleece jacket with armpit vents.
This is one size fits all and easily slides onto your arm, though it is skin tight, so if you like only loose fitting clothing, then this is not for you. It covers your entire arm from the wrist to the armpit. Only your shoulders are exposed.
This is a good accessory for Fall running. When a fleece jacket is too warm, this works great with a tanktop, and goes perfectly with a light nylon vest for windy conditions.
Buy this on Amazon. My local running store wanted nearly triple the Amazon price for this product.

I bought these to wear on my early morning runs. It is really cold when I leave my house, but after a couple miles I start to get too warm. I can fold them halfway down, and if needed, remove them completely and tuck them into my waistband. I love this product!

These were purchased as a gift for a friend to is an avid runner. She uses these all of the time for cold morning workouts. She loves them and says that they are very comfortable. These are good to keep warm on cold days or to protect arms from the sun on days that it isn't very cold.
These are a real attention grabber because at the last 5k I went to, several people approached my friend to ask her about the arm warmer.
